Reforming the American health care system is a crucial step in ensuring that everyone can access quality care.
Physicians for a National Health Program and our West Virginia Chapter are committed to helping doctors join forces to change from a for-profit system to one that is based on providing quality care for all; A patient-first system in which doctors can provide more comprehensive care, tailored to individual needs, rather than focusing on profits, and one that stops the abuse of doctors.
Doctors, nurses, dentists, hygienists, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, and other health care professionals are the ‘boots on the ground’ who devoted years of their lives to learning and applying science for the benefit of patients. Today the connection of science to patient is impeded by the current system. Instead of allowing trained professionals to pursue that goal in the manner they know is best, a plethora of non-healthcare middlemen across American are dictating what, whether, and how care is administered.
We believe that physicians have a responsibility to bond together and fight for a better healthcare system. By working together, we can have a louder voice than individual specialty societies, have a greater influence on health policy, and make a real difference in the lives of patients and the future of healthcare.
Other healthcare professionals, health advocacy organizations, and the public are invited to join us to amplify our voice.

Our Belief
Our campaign for a national health program is based on the premise that we can and should push the behemoth of private insurance out of the American healthcare system and replace it with a national program that ensures all Americans have access to quality health care.

​Seem like a quixotic and impossible task? Maybe so, although it has worked well in every other industrialized country. The task of speaking out clearly about the deep failures of the current “free market” system in healthcare and the availability of a workable alternative is neither quixotic nor impossible. It is what we do and will continue to do in PNHP West Virginia.

What You Can Do

We won't ask for a big commitment of your time.
Join Us:
At monthly Zoom meetings at 7:00 pm the last Sunday of each month.
Speak Up:
Tell colleagues, friends, church members, professional associations and other West Virginians - everyone -about the PNHP-WV mission. Give them the link to this web site.
Stamp It:
PNHP-WV will prepare letters. You print out, sign and send to state and federal representatives. Simple.

​Volunteer:
We need a volunteer in every West Virginia county to keep the PNHP-WV Board and county members informed.
